Proposal

As I mentioned in the previous post, I had the opportunity to design my very own engagement ring! We know an amazing jeweler, Brian Patch, who can do anything and everything when it comes to jewelry! So, about the middle of September Blake and I met with Bro. Patch do discuss my ring! I took him a few pictures of rings that I liked for different reasons, and we created my DREAM ring! The process took about a month. Blake and I met with him several times to discuss things we needed to add and or take away. Towards the end of the process he had created wax models for me to try on. They were really cool and detailed so it was almost as exciting as having the real thing! The wax was purple one time, and green the next! Way cool!
Then came the time when my help and opinion was no longer needed. Bro. Patch had mentioned the ring might be done by Oct. 13th, but there was no guarantee! So Wed. Oct. 13th came and I was super antsy all day! After work I came home and waited to hear from Blake! I had a R.S. Pres. meeting and after that I called Blake. He mentioned earlier that week that he would be working on his uncle's car Wed. night, so I figured if he had the ring, he'd wait for another night. :( When I called him, he was still at work, no surprise there, and said the part didn't come in, and that he wouldn't be working on his uncle's car that night! He also said that Bro. Patch hadn't finished the ring yet! I was furious, and I actually believed him!!! I was so sad! I asked him to be honest with me several times, and he said he was being honest! So, he said he'd be over in about an hour, and that he was very hungry! So, an hour came and went, 2 hours came and went, and finally I called him. He said he was just cleaning up! Well, another 45 mins. later, he said he was on his way! FINALLY!!!
So he FINALLY shows up at my house! I suggested he eat a burger my mom had made. He said that he wanted to go for a drive instead. The weather was nice, so the Chevelle was out! When Blake said the ring wasn't done earlier, I told him not to talk about it the rest of the night, because I was too sad! What's the first thing he brings up when we get in the car, the ring! He apologized for it not being done. So, we continue on our drive, and I'm not thinking a thing about getting engaged that night. We drive up to "Our Spot" that overlooks all of Provo, and he tells me he has a little gift for me. To tell me how much he loves me, and because my real ring isn't done yet. He pulls out a ring box, with a fake gumball ring in it!!! I was a little annoyed, but I lovingly accepted it. I asked if I had to wear it out in public! He said yes! lol I then asked if we were engaged, and he said no! I was a little confused, but still totally oblivious! Then, he turns on our song, and gets out to go around towards my door! I thought he wanted to dance, and that he was CRAZY! So, I opened my door, and I told him I didn't really want to get out of the car, because it was a little chilly outside. He said that was fine, and to stay there. Next thing I know, he's down on one knee, pulls a ring box out from behind my car seat, tells me how much he loves me and wanted to spend the rest of his life with me, and asked me to marry him!!! I was so shocked, excited, surprised, and totally caught off guard!!! And then he flashes the GORGEOUS rings that I so anxiously had been waiting for! I of course said YES, then told him to get in the car and put these rings on my finger! He did, and then we went home to show and tell everyone all about our engagement! :)
P.S. When Blake took so long coming to my house that evening, he was at WalMart searching all the gumball machines for the perfect fake ring! hahahaha AND, when I asked him to be honest about Bro. Patch saying my ring was not done, he was truly 100 % honest, because as Bro. Patch handed him my rings earlier that day he said, "Now Blake, you be sure to tell Allison her rings won't be done today"! hahahahaha So Sneaky!!! :)
That all happened on Wednesday night, the first day of fall break! Friday morning we left for Vegas with Brett and Tara and had an amazing weekend full of racing and Las Vegas Motor Speedway!!! :)

Change & Recommitment

So, as you can tell I am not very good about blogging. I really want to post current happenings, but i don't always get around to it! With a new year just beginning, I hope to be better at updating out Blog. I say "OURS", because a lot has happened since I last posted! Where do I begin?
First off, I changed the Blog address because the relationship status has recently changed as well! I changed it to ambwoffinden because Blake and I are finally engaged!!! WAHOO!!! :)
This address has both our names in it. Allison Marie Bennett Woffinden and Michael Blake Woffinden! :)
So first things first, Blake proposed to me on Oct. 13th, 2010 with the most gorgeous ring! We had be designing my ring with the amazing Brother Patch for about a month before! I had only seen wax models, so when the real thing was given to me by Blake I had to say yes with the size of that sparkle! :)
We will be getting married on June 23rd 2011 in the SLC Temple! We couldn't be more excited!
There are several other important events I must blog about, including a more detailed post on our engagement, but I will post each of them separately at a later time!
More posts to come SOON! Signing out! -Allison :)

I'm New to this

So, lately I've been thinking a lot about starting a blog. I have so many friends who have blogs and I am secretly jealous of them. shhhh. I love to view their blogs and see what they are up to. I don't have an amazing, super exciting life to blog about, as many of my friends do, but I thought it would be fun. Eventually, I will be sharing this blog with someone else as well! Hence the name of my blog. hehehehehe
Also, I am the least creative/crafty person I know, so my names, ideas, pictures, posts, etc, will probably be cheesy or dorky at times. Please bare with me. We'll also see how long it takes for me to figure everything out about this whole new blogging world, so wish me luck!
Seeing as now I am writing to myself, on an empty blog, I am off in search of adding and finding my blogging friends! That's all for now! Signing Out! -Allison
